On Tuesday, 27 October 2026, Erongo RED donated 50 mattresses valued at N$27,275.85 to Otjohorongo Primary School, reaffirming the organisation’s commitment to supporting the well-being, development and educational success of the communities it serves. The donation forms part of Erongo RED’s corporate social investment efforts aimed at making a positive contribution to the lives of children and communities beyond the provision of electricity.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Erongo RED Board Director, Mr. Titus Johannes, encouraged the learners, saying, “Take good care of the mattresses and appreciate the value of the items entrusted to you.”
Reinforcing the importance of making the most of opportunities afforded to them, Erongo RED Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Immanuel !Hanabeb, urged the learners to “take their education seriously, remain dedicated to their studies and work hard towards building a brighter future.”
Emphasising the value of education, he added: “Education is an important foundation for personal development and future contribution to Namibia.”
Receiving the donation on behalf of the school, Principal Mr. Tjopi Tjituera expressed sincere appreciation, describing the mattresses as “a blessing to the school and its learners.”
Echoing the school’s appreciation, Councillor Mr. Tjiseseta thanked Erongo RED for the contribution, describing it as “a great blessing to the community” and commending the company for making a meaningful difference in the lives of learners.
The mattresses will help improve sleeping conditions for learners, supporting their well-being and creating a more conducive learning environment. Through initiatives such as this, Erongo RED continues to support community development and invest in the future of Namibian children.
